The newest Captain America movie came out this last Friday to less than stellar reviews.
My brother and I had planned to see it irregardless of the reception as we had spent the last week or so rewatching the Winter Solider, Civil War, Black Widow and the TV show Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
I usually have little patience for people who whine about spoilers on the internet. It is your responsibility to keep clear of the places you know will spoil something for you until you have the time to get caught up on whatever it is you want not to be spoiled. And it has gotten easier to do so as monoculture has died the last decade or so.
So I don’t know why I got so miffed at the title of my favorite movie podcast’s episode Friday morning.
The Big Picture deemed Brave New World Marvel’s “Rock Bottom” before anyone who didn’t attend a midnight screening had a chance to see the movie.
I don’t intend to defend the movie too much other than to say Madame Web and Eternals do exist. And that if you loved Top Gun: Maverick for the dogfighting you had to enjoy large chunks of Brave New World.
I just wish I hadn’t seen the podcast title and feel a little disappointed in Sean and crew for the grabby headline to a podcast they knew we were all going to listen to.
